Personal Vision. After designing LSAs for others, Milan Bristela built the Bristell his way.
Even when you’re a top aircraft designer in a country with a reputation for building leading light sport aircraft models, you face frustrating compromises. In the case of aeronautical engineer Milan Bristela, that led to a desire to start his own company and make aircraft his way. He’s proud to give it his name: the Bristell.
This one, Bristela says, is not just for the usual profit motive. The Bristell was designed from the heart, and that’s why he prints “Wings with heart” on both sides of the cockpit.
The result is an aircraft with all the clever features Bristela ever imagined during his past four projects that include SportCruiser, briefly known as the PiperSport. It’s like nothing he’s ever done, and borrows its best features from the automotive industry. Although based in the Czech Republic, the company is named BRM Aero after a British Formula One race team: British Racing Motors. The letters even match the start of his surname and his first name. He was fascinated by the team and its famous world champion driver, Graham Hill, as a child. (The BRM name may yet appear on an all-electric British race car intended to compete in hill climbs.)

All visitors to our stand have been surprised by the roomy cockpit, comfortable seats and excellent workmanship. It looks as though the US market will make us very busy soon. Our big thanks to all visitors who visited our stand and spent their time with us, talking about our new bird and their feelings about it.

BRISTELL UL in Poland
We delivered the first BRISTELL UL plane to a customer in Poland. This particular customer spent two weeks in our production facility during the assembly of his plane and took the opportunity to be involved in several static tests. He learned about the aeroplane’s structure and its strengths. On this aeroplane we installed the Stratomaster Voyager EFIS for the first time with the help of our polish dealer Alexander Opoczinski.
Next two orders of BRISTELL RG
The next two orders for the BRISTELL RG have been placed. Both of them came from Australia. One is for our Australian dealer, the second is for John Blackburn, a retired RAAF F/A-18 fighter pilot who wrote that nice article in Aviator Magazine in Australia.
The first BRISTELL LSA was assembled for our Australian dealer, who has already sold two NG 4 LSA planes in Australia. This one is a full IFR equipped plane with installed watertight wing lockers. These wing lockers are made from composite with sealed, lockable doors. The aeroplane was already tested with these wing lockers and the test pilot confirmed that lockers doors are stiff enough so they don`t change shape during the flight.
General importeur in the USA
BRM AERO signed an agreement with Liberty Sport Aviation about a dealership for the USA. Liberty Sport Aviation became the general importer of BRISTELL S-LSA and E-LSA airplanes in the USA.
Last static test of BRISTELL
I am proud to inform you that today we finished the last static test for the BRISTELL aeroplane. The frame demonstrated the required strength in full and the plane is fully compliant with UL – 2 , ASTM F2245 and CS-VLA regulations.
